Our Quran syllabus
Four clear levels that take a child from their first Arabic letter to confident recitation and, for those who wish, full memorisation. After three free days of classes, the teacher places your child in the right level.
Tier 1 · Beginner
Foundation and Essentials
Alphabet recognition, basic Arabic sounds, the foundations of faith and everyday duas. This is where every new reader begins.
Milestone: Certificate in Noorani Foundations £35 – £45 per month
Noorani Qaida mastery
- Recognising every Arabic letter and its shape on its own, at the start, in the middle and at the end of a word.
- The short vowel movements, Zabar, Zer and Pesh, practised slowly and then at speed.
- Joined letters (Huroof-e-Murakkabat), so your child can read real words and not just single letters.
- Tanween, Jazm (Sukun), Tashdeed and Madd, the signs that change how a letter sounds.
The Six Kalimas
- Memorising Kalima Tayyibah, Shahadat, Tamjeed, Tauheed and Rad-e-Kufr, along with Iman-e-Mufassal and Iman-e-Mujmal.
- Understanding what each one means, so it is more than repetition.
Daily duas and Islamic etiquettes
- Duas for waking and sleeping, before and after eating, entering and leaving the home, using the restroom and travelling.
- Everyday manners taught through short routines a child can follow at home.
Wudu, Azan and Namaz
- Wudu (ablution) learned step by step, both the actions and the words.
- The Azan, the call to prayer.
- The full structure of the daily prayers, including Dua-e-Qunoot, until your child can pray with confidence.
By the end of this level: Your child reads simple Arabic words, knows the Kalimas and daily duas, and can perform Wudu and Namaz correctly.
Tier 2 · Intermediate
Fluent Recitation and Practical Tajweed
Moving from the Qaida to reading the Holy Quran fluently, while applying the core rules of articulation.
Milestone: Nazra and Tajweed Graduate £45 – £60 per month
Nazra Quran (smooth recitation)
- Guided, page-by-page reading through the entire Quran, Paras 1 to 30, with a steady pace and a record of every page completed.
- Gentle correction in every lesson so small mistakes never become habits.
Makharij
- The correct pronunciation points of each letter, from the throat, the tongue and the lips.
Noon Sakinah, Tanween and Meem Sakinah
- Izhar, Idgham, Iqlab and Ikhfa, learned with plenty of examples from the Quran itself.
- The rules of Meem Sakinah, and Qalqalah, the bouncing sound of certain letters.
Fluency and rhythm
- Breath control, and recognising the pause signs (Waqf).
- Gently removing common regional accents so recitation sounds clear and natural.
By the end of this level: Your child reads the Quran fluently with correct Tajweed and has completed Nazra.
Tier 3 · Upper intermediate
Short Surahs and Advanced Articulation
Memorising the essential Surahs while refining rhythm and pronunciation until recitation is flawless.
Milestone: Short Surahs Reciter £60 – £75 per month
Juz 30 (Para Amma) and key Surahs
- Structured memorisation with a pronunciation check at every step.
- Surah Al-Mulk, Surah Yaseen, Surah Al-Kahf, and the short daily Surahs from Ad-Duha to An-Nas.
Advanced Tajweed
- Sifaat, the characteristics of each letter.
- Heavy and light letters (Tafkheem and Tarqeeq).
- Extended Madd rules, taught with careful listening practice.
By the end of this level: Your child has memorised the key Surahs and recites them with confident, accurate Tajweed.
Tier 4 · Advanced
Full Memorisation (Hifz) or Translation and Tafseer
Intensive, carefully tracked study for students committing the whole Quran to memory, or understanding its meaning.
Milestone: Hifz Programme £90 – £130 per month
The Hifz system: Sabq, Sabqi, Manzil
- Sabq: a new lesson memorised each day.
- Sabqi: a review of recent lessons to secure them.
- Manzil: long-term revision blocks so that everything learned stays strong.
Translation and Tafseer (optional track)
- Word-for-word translation of the Quran, with contextual understanding (Tafseer).
- Designed for adults and older teens who want to understand the deeper meaning.
By the end of this level: A student with a steady daily routine, a clear memorisation record and strong revision habits, or a clear understanding of the meaning of what they recite.
Not sure which level? That is fine.
Join three free classes and the teacher will place your child, then explain the plan in plain English.
